Instructional Leadership Team

Instructional Leadership Team Description:

An Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) member is a teacher leader who will be a part of the leadership team around student achievement data, teaching and learning, and professional development. This leader will share information with their Professional Learning Community and lead the team into discussion and protocols to examine student learning.

Scope

The purpose of the ILT is to provide guidance and support implementation of the Common Core Instructional Framework.  Specifically, the Corrective Action plan requires ongoing, high-quality, job-embedded professional development that is aligned with the school’s comprehensive instructional program.  This includes, but is not limited to;

  • Developing data-supported action plans
  • Implementation of strategies for increased student achievement
  • Develop the agenda for Wednesday collaboration meetings. 
  • Facilitate grade level/subject matter meetings with identified outcomes
  • Participate in trainings and assist in supporting implementation
  • Facilitate the Cycle of Inquiry process
  • Design, support, facilitate and/or evaluate professional development
  • Identify successes in the implementation of strategies learned during professional development
  • Support grade level teams in identifying target strategies and their implementation

 

Scheduled meetings for the ILT are approximately 2.5 hours per month.  Activities that are part of the duties or “scope” of the ILT are performed or implemented at various times and are part of the professional responsibility of the ILT member.

Compensation

For the school years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015, leadership team members shall be compensated at the rate of $1,000 per year.  Attendance at the ILT meetings and follow up on assigned tasks is required to receive the stipend. 

 

How to become an ILT member:

  1. Prospective member will submit a statement as to the reason for their interest to be a member of the team.
  2. Applicants will be interviewed.
  3. Principal and Executive Director of Elementary Education will make final decisions.
  4. All applicants will be considered.
